Festival of Christmas at The National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool
2nd - 3rd December 2017

The National Museum of the Royal Navy in Hartlepool are delighted to bring the Festival of Christmas to the North East for the first time in 2017. The site is home to the historic Quayside and the magnificent HMS Trincomalee which will offer a unique backdrop to this fabulously festive event.

The Festival of Christmas will be taking place on Saturday 2nd December and Sunday 3rdDecember and promises a whole weekend of festive fun. Expect the usual staples, from Christmas Market to local food and drink suppliers, plus a few more unusual additions. Catch a Royal Navy vs Pirates re-enactment show courtesy of The Historical Combat Company or a thrilling fire manipulation performance by Captain Jackdaw & The Rumbucket. If you prefer to take it a bit easier then there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained too: traditional storytelling in the Captain’s Cabin on-board HMS Trincomalee and family craft activities plus carol-singing, musical theatre excerpts and dance performances from local groups. After all of that excitement, finish your visit with a glass of mulled wine or hot cider from our street sellers or, for the younger ones, a trip to a traditional Santa’s Grotto.

Open 10am – 5pm each day. Advance tickets are available to buy now from our online store or call 01429 860077 for more information.
